Paged one of the creators of Turning Point – EcoCentre for the education of children and young people

In Warsaw’s Praga Północ district, the opening of the Turning Point – a state-of-the-art environmental education centre for children and young people, where they will be able to deepen their knowledge of circularity and sustainable fashion free of charge – took place on 21 September 2023 at 10:00am. Paged supplied the facility with plywood, thanks to which the equipment of the EcoCentre was created.

The Turning Point is Poland’s first environmental education centre based on the idea of puzzle rooms. It is 350 sq m of specially designed space for climate education for children and young adults. This is where it will be possible to solve eco-puzzles and discover the secrets of ‘fast fashion’. Creative tasks will include catching manipulation in advertising and social media, segregating waste, reading labels correctly or calculating how much water it takes to produce cotton. Visitors will also be able to understand what circularity means in practice.

Turning Point was created using plywood supplied from the Paged Group, which is a leader in the production of this material on the Polish market and one of the five biggest producers in Europe. This material was used to build puzzle room elements and finish the space, thus emphasising the pro-ecological idea of Warsaw’s EcoCentre.

Plywood is one of the most environmentally friendly materials currently used on the market. It has one of the lowest levels of formaldehyde emissions among materials used in construction or transport. This makes it ideally suited to the creation of this unique EcoCentre and the theme of social responsibility, which is one of the elements of Paged’s strategy. This is an important cooperation for us, which enables our company to support the expansion of pro-ecological education of the young generation – says Jarosław Michniuk, Chief Executive Officer of Paged.

A multidisciplinary team of experts is involved in the project and remains at the disposal of visitors. The EcoCentre Turning Point is located in Warsaw at 88 Jagiellońska Street, in the former FSO gate (now FSO Park). It is available for children and young people on weekdays between 9 am and 3 pm, and at weekends it is a facility open to the general public of Warsaw and the whole country.
