Paged DryGuard FR: The new standard in fire- and weather-resistant plywood

Paged is launching Paged DryGuard FR, a unique innovative plywood that represents a breakthrough in the building construction industry by combining advanced fire and moisture protection. The product responds to the needs of customers designing and building in areas of high humidity and those carrying out public utility projects that require the highest safety standards, among others.

Paged DryGuard FR is a globally unique design solution based on cutting-edge technology developed by the Paged LabTech R&D team and the Paged Morąg technology and operations teams.

DryGuard FR plywood is the result of Paged’s many years of experience in the production of fire retardant plywood, as well as the research and work of our specialists who have been dedicated to bringing fire- and moisture-resistant plywood to the market. This is a plywood that provides safety without compromise. To our knowledge, Paged is the only plywood manufacturer in the world to have developed, certified and introduced such a unique and market-demanded solution. – Ewelina Depczynska, R&D Director and CEO of Paged LabTech, emphasizes. Paged DryGuard FR stands for safety, durability and versatility in construction. We are confident that it will become the new standard in the industry. – adds Depczyńska.

Key features of Paged DryGuard FR:

  • Water resistance: The plywood has a hydrophobic coating to minimize moisture absorption (EN 927-5). It does not require additional protection from rain, which reduces costs and speeds up projects.
  • Fire resistance: It has the highest fire reaction class for wood B-s1, d0 (EN 13501-1), which guarantees safety in public and commercial spaces.
  • Mould protection: The coating effectively protects against fungus growth, which promotes a healthy environment for use (EN 927-3).
  • UV protection: The coating provides enhanced UV protection (PN-EN 927-6). As a result, surface cracking is less than with raw plywood. In addition, DryGuard FR’s signature red color does not fade, reducing the risk of confusion when using several types of plywood on a construction site.
  • Lightweight and Durable: Made from pine wood, Paged DryGuard FR is extremely lightweight, making it easy to install, while also having high structural strength.
  • Ease of Design: The new plywood has undergone specialized testing of the strength and stiffness of roof and floor sheathing at the Lukasiewicz Research Network – Wood Technology Institute, confirming its suitability for structural applications.
  • Certificate of constancy of performance: The product has been certified by an independent notified body (System for Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance AVCP 1).
  • Ecology: The plywood is made of certified wood from sustainable forests in the Baltic Sea region (FSC, PEFC). Low formaldehyde and VOC emissions make the product environmentally friendly. It has a Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
  • Vapor permeability: the plywood has a low diffusion resistance, which allows water vapor to pass through.

Key applications

Paged DryGuard FR was designed for applications in:

  • public utility construction, such as schools, hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, airports or subway stations,
  • commercial construction, including warehouses, production halls and data centers,
  • residential construction, such as apartment houses, modular and mobile homes, and bungalows,
  • wooden structures, as wall and ceiling panels (CE1).

Installation options and expanded offer

Paged DryGuard FR is an easy to install product:

  • Tongue-and-groove (T&G) jointing makes installation easier and faster, and ensures structural stability by allowing panels to be laid into a uniform surface, eliminating the “keyboarding” effect.
  • CNC cutting and machining allow for precise formats and shapes to meet project requirements, making integration much easier.
